In 2021, The Brave House has offered weekly in-person and virtual events for our members to connect, learn, and have fun. Our events are a key part of our goal to build communities of support around young immigrants in NYC.

We spent the afternoon practicing public speaking and communication with our youth development coach. It was a day filled with stepping outside of our comfort zones, trying new techniques, and of course, lots of laughing.

Our Youth Leadership Board gathered for some brunch and community-building. The YLB is one of our initiatives aimed at creating leadership opportunities for our members as well as a space to get feedback, direction and insight into our support servies. It's also the perfect change to come together for fun, joy, and good company.

We gathered safely in-person at Grand Army Plaza for our monthly Brave Club where we learned from the life, voice, and art of Frida Kahlo. Two amazing members led us in a powerful art project to create our individual "Dos Fridas".

We sent out another round of care packages to our members and their families to kick off the new year! Each bag was filled with necessities like toilet paper, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, gloves, hats, a gift card, and other items to make these difficult times a little bit brighter.
