We had a lovely evening of connection and celebration to kickstart our fun-filled International Women's Day at Talea, a women-owned brewery in Brooklyn. Our community came together to celebrate The Brave House and to shine a light on the amazing people that make our community what it is.

2023 Annual Fundraiser

Our Board of Directors hosted an inspiring night celebrating the power of joy and community. New and old friends of the Brave House gathered in a beautiful apartment in the Upper East Side of Manhattan to hear from our community members, raise awareness, and connect.
We are so grateful to everyone who joined us for a vibrant evening. Special thank you to Ridgewood Savings Bank for supporting this event.

New York City Marathon 2023
November 5, 2023
A team of 10 brave runners successfully made it across the finish line, helped us spread awareness about our mission, and collectively raised over $52,000 for the Brave House. The day felt like a love letter to New York City as runners and supporters made their way through all 5 boroughs with grace, determination, and joy.
We are beyond grateful for everyone who helped us make our first-ever marathon Sunday so special. Thank you for generously donating, joining us for our race day brunch, cheering enthusiastically for our runners, training for weeks in preparation, and for every act of kindness in between.

Our Board of Directors and growth team hosted an intimate Friendsraiser in Manhattan. Five Brave House members joined as guest speakers to share their stories of resilience and their unique insights into our organization.
We had a lovely time welcoming new folks into our community and we feel so appreciative of everyone who attended.

Poetry Open Mic Night

Our community gathered to celebrate art and expression. We had stunning performances of original and recited poems in English, Spanish, Tibetan, Greek, American Sign Language, and more; live music performances; and dance.
Thank you so much to all of our performers for creating a space of vulnerability, joy, and celebration. We also appreciate everyone who joined and cheered on our performers.

We joined together for an evening of poetry, music, expression and love at our annual Open Mic Night! Thank you to everyone for being a part of this special event as we kicked off Giving Tuesday together.
This tradition serves to connect as a community and amplify the voices of immigrants, BIPOC, and girls + gender-expansive youth. Thank you to all who donated, performed, and supported this event in so many different ways.

On November 23rd at we hosted a virtual night of poetry, advocacy, and celebration! We featured performances from our members, an update from our founder, and a piece from a surprise Broadway guest.
100% of the proceeds went directly to funding our continued Covid-19 Relief Response, which includes providing food & cash assistance, housing counseling, and mental health support.

What a beautiful, powerful way to celebrate International Women's Day. The amazing Evil and Love raised over $5,000 for the Brave House with a day full of tattoos, conversations, food, music, and joy. Thank you Evil and Love for hosting us, to Lina Aquino and all the artists and vendors for donating your time and talent, and to all the supporters who came for a tattoo or to join for the festivities. Thank you to the women on the panel who shared so authentically about their experiences, including one of our very own members. A huge thanks to the Flowmingos for your incredible music and vibrant energy and to Adam Gavin & Jane Seixas for capturing these moments.

We spent the evening dancing with the Flowmingos in Washington Square Park ... with 100% of the proceeds going to The Brave House! Our team was spreading the word about our services and how to get involved. A huge thank you to the vibrant & amazing team at Nooklyn for making this event happen! A big thanks to everyone who came and shared some hugs, ideas, support, and sweet dance moves.

We hit the (very hot) pavement as Kevin completed 100 laps of the Brooklyn Bridge on his bike as part of our Iron-Woman fundraiser!! Lauren spent the day cheering him on, talking to strangers about The Brave House, & handing out water/hugs.
