Our Why.
We believe that our community knows best what services and resources are most helpful for their thriving and healing. Through facilitation and open dialogue, our Youth Leaders can verbally share feedback on the entire range of our programs and dive deeper into specific services. By actively including members in every step of our process we will not just provide our members with more responsive services, but also allow them to take charge of their own healing.

Our Impact.
As part of their six-month term in our Youth Leadership Board, members take part in development training, including topics such as: Leadership and Public Speaking, Time Management and Goal Setting skills, and How to Have Difficult Conversations. Youth Leaders are also given the opportunity to build deep relationships with fellow YLB members. An exciting display of maturing leadership skills is that our longest-serving Youth Leaders have begun to facilitate and lead some of our workshops.

MentorshipWe started the Mentorship Program in 2020 to help our members explore career paths, build confidence, and have the support of a long-term positive role model. Mentors and Mentees connect at least once a month after mentors complete a robust onboarding process which includes an interview, background check, and a required, in-house Trauma-Informed Care training led by a Licensed Social Worker. Pairs engage in a wide range of activities - from visiting the MoMa, to applying to law school, to meeting up for tacos.
